Wensky Malina

The Wensky Beer brewery has Polish roots and was founded in 2009 in the city of Araucária, located in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, state of Paraná, Brazil. It currently produces 13 styles of beers, using the best raw materials and the most refined manufacturing techniques, as we are passionate about making quality beers.

Project Goal

Packaging design for the new Witbier Raspberry beer from Wensky began with the creation of its name. Malina means raspberry in Polish and, to being a female name, it stands out within the brand’s products.

The visual identity gave prominence to the fruit as the main differential, using classic elements of beer and calligraphy so that, the identity could be recognized by the masculine and feminine public.

WITBIER

Traditionally produced in Belgium, the Witbier beer style (meaning white beer in the Flemish language) is characterized by its clear appearance and turbidity. What sets it apart from the more traditional is that Witbier receives the addition of spices such as orange and coriander and, as in this case, raspberry.

Naming

After studying some options, the name Wensky Malina was chosen for this Witbier. The word ” malina ” means raspberry in Polish and reinforces the value of the brewery tradition, reaffirming its Polish origin. Also to be a word easy to pronounce, the female name highlights the beer within the portfolio of the brand.

Graphic Concept

The graphic concept that Labis Design developed for the Wensky Malina – a Weiss from the Belgian tradition with raspberry flavor – reinforced curvilinear forms, to refer to the feminine world and to make it more refined. In addition, more organic shapes and the illustrated representation of the fruit give prominence and personality to the label of this light and refreshing beer.
