Wensky Clássica

The Wensky Beer brewery has Polish roots and was founded in 2009 in the city of Araucária, located in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, state of Paraná, Brazil. It currently produces 13 styles of beers, using the best raw materials and the most refined manufacturing techniques, as we are passionate about making quality beers.

All beers produced at Wensky Beer are carefully crafted to please beer connoisseurs. The graphic language created for the labels, the outstanding flavors of the recipes, the noble and selected ingredients, the modern processes and avant-garde concepts, all these factors together make the Wensky Beer brewery a reference in quality, offering TO JEST PIWO! (This is beer!).

Labis Design redesigned the classic line labels and created a new identity for each beer line thanks to the Brand Language Design method, which provided a basis for developing, applying and harmonizing the symbol, typography and history of each beer in your new labels. It was also developed the new Wensky Beer website.

Project Goal

The goal was to translate the quality of the brand and facilitate identification through the differentiation between products. Labis Design had been a lot of liberty to create and suggest a new style and visual identity. Initially, it was redesigned the brand logo and after it was redesigned the labels for inspiration in Wensky’s values, such as tradition and originality.

Poland

Although Poland is known as the birthplace of vodka, the country has the “beer culture” too. Drinking has always been extremely important to the Polish. The connection with Poland was rescued in the tagline “To Jest Piwo!” – which means ‘This is beer’ in Polish.

This phrase is part of the affectionate memory of the owner of Wensky, because he heard it from the mother during she stirred the pan and she making him feel the smell of hops in the air.

Microbrewery and Brand Values

Microbrewery is a new way of producing handcrafted beers, which rescue the traditional way of brewing beers from the ancient monasteries of Europe. They brought to Brazilians the option to consuming unique and differentiated brewing products with various types, textures, aromas and flavors, avoiding the well known beer / pilsen chopp.

Said that, the microbreweries are creating a market GOURMET, of lovers of quality beers. The production is of small scale and the distribution is limited and regionalized serving from a single bar or restaurant to a few states. This fact brings the characteristics to the brand of:

Classic Line

For the classic line, Labis Design sought to maintain the core values of tradition and originality of Wensky Beer beer, seeking in Poland, and in its culture, inspiration for the development of the line. The new packages of the Classic Line should translate the tradition and the quality of the brand, besides facilitating the identification through the greater differentiation between each product of the line.

Initially, the work relied on the redesign of the logo. For the redesign of the labels, the inspiration came from the values of the brand: Poland, tradition, originality and handcrafted. The Polish tradition is clear on the new product tagline: “To Jest Piwo!” – This is beer, in Polish. Considering that the Brazilian consumer is not yet accustomed to the variety of beer, it was sought to translate the type of beer on the label, with the association of each beer with a European animal. For example, the Baltic Porter was associated with the Bison force.

The graphic line was inspired by the classic traits of European beers, without losing sight of the creation of a unique identity. The choice of printing material, BOPP Metalized, valued the graphic lines of the labels.

Conclusion

The project also involved the creation of a new website and a gift packaging. The website summarizes graphically the values and characterizing elements of Wensky, with images illustrated as background behind each beers session. From the result of the new visual identity, developed by Labis Design, there was an increase of 30% in sales of Wensky Beer beers.
