Labis Design developed a project for Salumeria Romani based on Brand Language Design, a method that allowed us to create a concept, communication strategy, choose the typography, colors and illustrations ideal for the brand, applying all this in on and off-line.
Salumeria Romani, founded in 1998, specializes in sausages and Salami typical of Italians of long maturation – from the noblest ones like speck to the simpler ones like mortadella. Mr. Romani has been in Italy many times to learn closely the art of making homemade meats with premium meats, special aromatic herbs and with the minimum of chemical additives.
Today, many companies adopt “typical Italian” in their communications as a brand, not the case of Salumeria Romani, as we are talking about a product made with first-class raw material and handmade care. Therefore, the brand should express values such as: handmade, gourmet, quality, genuine, European standard and sophistication.
The motto of the company today, after much research and work, is the belief that it is possible to make quality handcrafted products using the same centuries-old formulas that Italian ancestors wore, making Salumeria Romani products typically Italian.
Labis Design has worked to convince customers that Salumeria Romani products have an international standard, since they do not lose anything for the imported ones and also have an infinitely higher quality than the national products of the big industries.
The strategy of Labis Design was to create an identity that competed with international brands and that differed from national brands. A brand that embodies the Italian artisan side and at the same time elevates the product to a gourmet category of special product. For this, a distinctive seal was created that testifies to the quality of the products and the Italian way of making sausages.
From the values of the brand and the knowledge of the communication tone of the market, we defined the concept: Handmade food / Slow Food.
The site was designed for the user to have the same experience across all platforms and devices, featuring modular components and an intuitive interface.
The rescue of the genuine pleasure of the great tavola, surrounded by family and well-being, where you stay for hours, enjoying the food and the company. It is the love at the table, which also translates to the concept of slow food. The charm of the craftsmanship, of the simple. We enter into the trend of “New Luxury”: the product tells a story and what counts is the experience it provides.
Salumeria Romani products were divided into two categories, to be identified by different packaging. They are: Basic Line and Noble Line.
Labis Design has created a palette of colors based on the Italian flag, we added black and gold for a more sober and sophisticated touch. For the pattern, we use illustrations of some products and other materials that refer to the artisanal gastronomic universe.
For the construction of the logo and the seal, we re-read old logos and stamps, however, using different forms of layout, trying to escape from conventional alignments and working with the elements overlap and texture.
The use of Kraft paper enriches identity and reinforces the artisanal issue. In addition, we work different weights and other materials, such as strings and stamps.
